As a mechanic and 12 volt guy I would like to learn how the Autofill system is to function and if any one makes replacement parts as I have a leak in the housing at the city water hookup or upgrades for my 1993 25' Regal

I can help you with that….The part with the leak appears to be a filter screen, I can’t tell for sure in that photo. Whatever it is, I would remove the four screws, unscrew the two halves from the threaded connection and using a sheet of 240 grit or finer sandpaper on a sheet of glass and make figure 8’s with it until the surface is uniform again. The screen, if that’s what it is, probably has a seal attached to the circumference so evening the flanges would also tighten that seal too. A second option, one that we employ on our Barth would be to remove the screen device and connect the incoming city water direct to whatever is on the other side of the leaky device and install a whole house water filter behind the city water connection.

The AutoFill system is controlled by the KIB monitor panel which supplies power to the AutoFill valve. There is a dedicated water level probe at highest level of the water tank, when the water level reaches that probe a panel alarm will sound and power is cut to the AutoFill valve.

I hope that explains your question.

Billy are any of the valves by the pump supposed to be switched when going from fresh fill to city?

No, but I didn’t notice in your photo if your’s is equipped but our coach has a manual valve that bypasses the AutoFill valve in the event of a valve failure since that’s the only way to get water in the tank.

I did forget to mention that the fresh water pump needs to be switched off when using the AutoFill function, or else it will draw water from the tank and pump it right back into the tank through the AutoFill line.

I see now that you have a gravity fill so you will not have a bypass valve.

So the Auto fill when switched on only allows water from the city fill connection to enter but when switched off it blocks it?

That is correct. Make sure you test all that before making it gospel, we do have a different model…

Thanks will test after the new ShurFlo city water hookup gets here tomorrow. Any chance you know the type of Butyl sealant is used used on the city water hookup flange to aluminum surface? The product that was there was still soft after years.
