Billy & Helen, Lafayette, home of the Rajun Cajuns. Donna and I are originally from Monroe, LA. Maybe we can get together and fix up some good ol' Cajun cooking one evening for everyone.

Looking forward to meeting you and everyone else next month. So far Rusty is the only other member of the forum we have actually met.

Never heard of it before.

Bourré wikipedia.org

Bourré (also commonly known as Bouré and Boo-Ray) is a trick-taking gambling card game primarily played in the Acadiana region of Louisiana in the United States of America. The game's closest relatives are probably Spades and Euchre; like many regional games, Bourré sports a large number of variant rules for both gameplay and betting considerations.

Especially if you "Boo" (take no tricks); some variants of the game require you to match the pot if there's no winner (like a 2-2-1 split among three of the players).

The way most of Louisiana plays the game is if you do not take at least one trick out of the five played each hand, you have to match the pot.
