Here is a question I have been thinking about for a couple of weeks now...

How much did a Barth cost new? Lets say I was going to pick up a neat 73 21 footer. What would I expect to pay? And who were they sold thru?

Another question came up the other day as I was talking to my mechanic. He said to me... Do you know what Barth was known for before Coaches?... Horse trailers? My wife remembers Barths at horse shows in the 70s.

Was this the original Barth clientell?

A 1975 21 footer (which is as far as they go back blue book wise) sold for $14K new. It is my understanding that almost all Barth's were sold out of the factory. However, I guess that some dealer would buy a few at a time. Texas RV, in Waco, TX was one.

As far as older coaches like a 1973 21 footer I don't think the NADA book really applies. If you find one that has been sitting in a field for 5 years may a few hundred bucks will get it. But I can't see a nice well maintained coach where all of the utilities work and you can drive it away going for under $5K book is around $2700.00.

After all the value books were put together for loan values primarily. No bodies going to take out a loan for a 1973 coach I don't think.
