Since the article was written, in 2013, LNG has become a more abundant and viable alternative fuel. We've had a few discussions here about aerodynamics. But, lately the only things I'm seeing in widespread use are long under-frame fairings, to direct air around the trailer tires, and trailer-tail fairings, to reduce drag at the rear.
