I guess it's "organic" because it doesn't have any coloring or chemical treatments? Not that you find that in firewood all too often (as far as I've seen), that's more of a decorative mulch feature.

Plus "organic" is becoming quite a buzz word, and the seller is probably hoping that will pull some greenish buyers in. Wink

LOL, we always only cut "dead" or sick trees for our firewood. Or we get the rejects from the sawmill. Kind of pricey too the NY trees. All our trees are organic, never put fertilizer or pesticides on them, just some vegetable peels etc.
