It's another Barthism

SOB: Some Other Brand ~ NOUN: duality - being twofold; division into two mutually exclusive, opposed, or contradictory groups; "the dichotomy between a Barth and a SOB"

The shortened SOB, and its duality in meaning, really is another way of referring to another brand of motorhome with a play on words.

I always think of SOB as "Something Other than a Barth" even though that technically has more letters.

Hence the disclaimer in my signature, next to the make/model of the motorhome I currently own. Wink

Although both are acceptable, I have always been of the belief that "Something Other than Barth" was the original meaning. But, it's not my website so I defer to BillNY D'oh ROTFLMAO.

Yep - you're both right. I asked this very same question when I started out here a few years back and was given both answers. Seeing that there are more letters in this variation, I've opted to use the former instead.

Perhaps a new survey to settle it. Big Grin

I'll abide by the majority vote for future questions on this. Thumbs Up

Survey Says - SOB
