Just received this sad news from Liz. We all will miss Steve, especially those of us who knew him from when he got their first Barth and came all the way down from Michigan to go to the Hillsborough GTGs. He was always a huge help to everyone here on Barthmobile with any questions about their coach. I'm still in shock a bit but will come up with an appropriate remembrance of our good friend Steve. Open to suggestions.

Only a few qualify as Legends in the Barth chronicle. Steve is certainly deserving. For newcomers who want to know Steve I suggest they read his posts. I never remember a post asking a question - rather all were in-depth, impressive suggestions to a fellow Barth owner with a problem. He was and always will be Mr. Barth to me.

I'm sorry Liz.

I’d have made sure I took a better picture if I’d have known it was the last time we’d see him. We texted a couple times a week.

I talked to him the other day. Told him he was a weenie for missing last year because he thought he needed to change his u joints. He examined a couple weeks ago and decided they were fine. What I actually told him Lynn said he was a weenie for missing. It was all in good fun and we laughed and he agreed.

We compared our displeasure with age and the slow down it causes just days ago via texts.

We were looking forward to seeing him and Liz tomorrow. We will hoist a glass in memory at the GTG. He will be missed. As will Liz not because she’s gone but she no longer has her driver for the coach.

Seeing he was “Liz’s Driver” I believe his Monarch will be up for sale. Liz has her hands full.

Rest in peace Steve, you left too early.
Liz, so sorry to hear about your big loss, we all sure miss Steve, his humour and big knowledge about all things motor and Barth. But we know for you it will be harder.

We are on the way to the Springfield GTG and were excited to see you and Steve again.
May God give you strength.
