You’re right Tom. While not sticks and coal, our gifts to Tonka were more like socks and underwear, although after a few gallons of fine Rotella T and TranSend she's primed and ready for 'Hats and Horns'.Big Grin

The necessities, especially the transmission channel plate and one room RV apartment for the winter, pretty well ate up her Christmas Fund for the year. So far she seems happy and thriving on the simple things in life.

Who knows, if all goes well next year, there could be a nice surprise (maybe a Pac Brake) under the tree. Smiler

Merry, Merry and Best Wishes to All,
Wally

StaRV II came home from the spa today - the Alcoa wheels ride much more smoothly on the pavement, and a slight but noticeable improvement on washboard surfaces due to the reduced unsprung weight.

Headed to UBRVRAPE II Monday for Christmas at the Cagles.

Here's a mystery photo... is it...?

Bill NY's Nascar hotrod Christmas tree?
New plumbing
Or, new headers for 86Barth?

It got a new gear reduction starter and an engine heater, too. Also new Goodyear steer tires! (86Barth was very good this year!) Thumbs Up

I can't believe I was in Florida in the 80's on Dec 9! Below zero here the last two nights. confusion

I think those of us stuck in the north should have some contests...(actually you folks in the south can play, too) ROTFLMAO

I'm thinking... how much snow can you pile on your windshield wipers?...

Too bad, I win again! deadhorse

Steve,
The headers are shiny and pretty, but are sure overshadowed by the BEAUTIFULLY DECORATED tree.

Mogan, I agree with you except that the tree will only last one season Frowner compared to the headers but the tree certainly exceeds in the beauty Department. Big Grin

Well I had quite a little talk with Ugly Betty and tried to explain that Santa had to spend all his money on the transmission and that there wasn't much left. She seem to really have her feelings hurt and wanted me to know that gifts for the other siblings simply didn't count. So after carefully shifting around some expenses, Like no food and not paying the utility bills, Ugly Betty is getting new memory foam mattresses.

Nick gave StaRV II a great Husky soft toolbox with 4 compartmented containers.

As far as Ugly Betty is concerned, it probably didn't help her attitude that StaRV II is in the driveway next to the house and she's parked down next to the workshop on the RV pad...

StaRV II got a belated Christmas "present" on the way home from the Cagles' - inside right rear tire blew; I thought one of the left ones blew because I saw a flash in the driver's side mirror. I pulled off to check, and limped to a spot where the tire guy had room to work.

Since I was just into the Waycross, GA bypass, I decided to check local shops rather than call Good Sam's Road Service (hoping to save time). DeLorme's Street Atlas USA Deluxe has a phone directory, so I called one shop which didn't have an 8R19.5; they referred me to another (Miller Tire in Waycross) and they had one in stock.

Then the tech called back and said he had a couple of used tires that I could have for nothing; pick one and just pay the service call. $93 and two hours after the blowout I was on my way...and got home in daylight for the dogs' walk and preliminary offload.

That's excellent service!
