I brought my 97 Regal home from storage today. I was checking everything out and the generator would not crank up with the house batteries turned on.
I decided it was time to check my batteries. They look great on the outside but with further investigation both were low on fluids. I have restored the water levels with distiller water a few hours ago.
I am also hooked up with power from my home.
The generator still getting limited power to turn it over.
The one exception is when I crank the engine. Then it cranks right up.
My questions are twofold.
1. Does the generator get power from the chasis or house batteries?
2. Will the house batteries recharge from my house current?
As always thanks for all the expert advice.

The layout of batteries, convertors and invertors seems to vary a lot in the Barths.

My Regal has house and chassis batteries. As originally equipped, the engine alternator charged both sets via a splitter. The house batteries would also charge from the convertor when the coach was plugged in, but not the chassis battery.

My generator was set up to crank from and charge to the house batteries only. Good luck with yours. mechanic

Thanks Steve. I hope the batteries will recharge now that I have refilled them. How long should it take to recharge?
Sound like your Father n law had a good long life.
