QuinnWindshield Washers - Originally 2 pumps?
The windshield wipers on my Barth are operated independently. Comically, the left knob operates the passenger side wiper, and the right knob the driver side. I can never get it right on the first try.
Both knobs have a "push to wash" feature. Pushing either knob sends fluid to both wipers. I'm wondering if there were originally two pumps or a two way pump? Anyone else have the same setup?

Steve VWHmm… dyslexic windshield washers?

Sounds like someone reversed the switches/harnesses. If you pull the instrument panel out you can switch them around.
On mine, both switches control the single shared washer pump also.

QuinnThanks, Steve VW. I thought about switching them around, but two corners on my instrument panel are cracked, and I'm imagining those would need complete removal to glue back in place.
Maybe I can find some wires in a more accessible place to switch instead?

Steve VWIf you follow those wires from the switches down, you will see a bunch of splice connectors. If you can get to these, just swap the wires there. All are color coded: white, black, red, green.
I think you might be able to get to them if you remove the air duct and bezel below and work through the hole?

RustyI used hombrew plastic solvent cement to weld the cracks - ½ acetone, ½ MEK.
