It seems the Hoaglands are out of business. They had bought the liquidation, when regency products, went belly up. Can anyone help with part numbers for ball joints for a 36' regency products chassis?

Official Barth Junkie![]() |
The early 80'5 35 ft coaches with MCC chassis were listed on Data Tags as manufactured by Barth with chassis made by Regency Products. Later Regencies were Barth coaches with mostly Gillig chassis and Cat engines. No mention of Regency Products. More of a model name by then? ![]() 9708-M0037-37MM-01 "98" Monarch 37 Spartan MM, 6 spd Allison Cummins 8.3 325+ hp

Our Barth is an 86. Beautifully made all aluminum coach with a Regency Products Industries chassis. (RPI) From what I understand Barth was going through a transition about then and 50 or 60 of the coaches were built, or slated to be built, on speculation. I believe some investor money (VC?) was involved. Our coach is powered with an 8.2 Detroit/ Alison auto. Kind of under powered, but ten and a half MPG. The RPI chassis had 3500 series chevy brakes. I upgraded to what I believe are equivalent to "Top Kick" brakes. Our coach also has a transverse leaf spring in the front, offering independent suspension, in the front. We have owned this coach thirty years.

hello- with the early regency you have possibly the best handling and riding motor home of all time. I nearly bought one years ago. The down side is that it was an offshoot of the FMC which Barth bought, and there is no source for many of the parts. The upside is common parts like tie rods, ball joints etc came from some common stock and the best source would be an old time truck parts person. Take lots of pictures and measurements and head for parts houses. eventually someone will recognize it. Or if in dire need take the actual removed part. All custom made parts can be built by any good restore or race car shop. And as for the engine-it has a bad reputation but if you keep the right oil in it and change regular it will help. Also pay very close attention to the cooling system and never let it get low or overheat. A discussion with an older diesel mechanic is greatly recommended. And never put it under heavy load. then finally, there are other engines that can be installed and once again the older mechanic could well be your friend. BTW parts are real scarce for this unit, so it has some value on the parts market when you decide it is beyond repair. Just enjoy it and take care of it for now while seeking other owners for help and advice. john
