As many of the know the source for the KD tail light lense has dried up for ever. However, I was told that the red lense discoloration is only surface deep, that if you take some good polishing compound you can get through it and your lenses will be red again. Would someone out there try that, obviously in a small spot first to see if that works? Mine are fairly new or I would do it myself. | ||

Old aircraft position-light lens tip: Polishing/rubbing compounds with an unknown degree of agressiveness can permanently damage plastics if improperly applied....To be absolutely safe, use BonAmi (Pure version w/ no additives) - it's 100% volcanic pumice and self-regulating (i.e.: Will break itself down into harmless paste before it hurts the plastic).....Also great for removing the black gunk around rivet heads after polishing aluminum..... | |||

Hey, if Porsche pilots can have a bra on the front, we can have bras on the back to protect our rare and irreplacable taillight lenses from UV degradation. I am working on a design right now, but it is slow going. Wish I had a Mac instead of this old Commodore. | |||
