I would like to "freshen" up the engraving identifying the switches(they are tough to read).Is there an instrument makers crayon available that would give a professional appearance??....Thanks....

You are looking for a 'lacquer stick'. Paint or Furniture store should have them. Clean out old material, rub in over engraving and then wipe off the excess fairly quickly.
The engraving on my dash is not that kind, its just etched away the black coating on the dash material, so the light will show though. Not enough depth to fill.
