I am in the middle of tearing the bathroom apart on my Barth 20'. It is a real mess, and since I am gutting it, And putting In all new plywood walls, I also want to put on a new shower stall and toilet. The problem is, my old shower pan dimensions are 24" x 31". I have never heard of any shower stall having a width of 31". I have only seen them in widths of 24, 30, 32, 36 and so on. The space between the two walls won't allow me to fit a 32" shower pan in there. Has anyone else ran into this problem? Did Barthake thier own shower pans and use a wire size? This is turning into a real pain, I don't want to buy a new shower pan and cut it.

I resized (from 45" - now it fits) and uploaded your image to the Barth Photobucket. Please do not attach an image as space is limited; if you must, resize it to ~9" wide and 72 pixels/inch. Only after I got it to a viewable size did I notice it needed to be rotated 90°. It's better to send to me for uploading. Thanks

I am interested in your progress with the shower stall. The plastic liner in mine is cracked and I am planning to replace it.

The shower floor is also raised about 4 inches above the coach (maybe for drain/trap clearance?) but it cuts into my headroom. I am almost too tall to stand in there. I am hoping to drop the shower floor to the same level as the coach floor if possible. This may mean installing the trap below floor level where it can freeze more easily but I'll take that chance if I can.

Sorry I can't help more...

...and be sure to use MARINE plywood for any wet areas!
This plywood is used on boats and sea craft as it is very good in resisting water penetration!!

Without seeing the space available, I can't describe my idea in detail, but in house remodeling, I have been able to notch or remove just enough framing or wall covering to get the base to fit at the bottom, sliding it in horizontal or tipping it in at an angle from above. The wall covering can then be replaced to lap over the base. I would never modify the base and would also search harder for a 31 in. before starting the install.

Steve, I would think there are heat ducts, hoses, wiring etc that also run under the raised floor.

Steve, why would you be concerned with freezing? I mean, afterall, you live in one of the most temperate climates on Earth Big Grin

One idea would be for any Barthmobile members out there that have some names and phone numbers for the surplus RV operations in Goshen or Elkhart to provide some of those. I can not remember the three I visited but can remember lots of components left over from firms that went out of business. Calling around there might give you a lead.

I am in the process of replacing my shower in our house that had leaked. I am using a Kerdi Schluter kit for the pan and water proof membrane. Cuts very easy to size... best thing since sliced bread. Google it for more info.
