The timing pointer on my 460 engine is so buried beneath structure I have to use an endoscope to see it . It’s on top of the balancer . There is no way to flash a timing light on it because so much is in the way . I tried running it at night using the endoscope and the light doesn’t reach it adequately to see anything . Has anyone else run into this . | |||

Ford, like GM may have installed an alternative pointer under the engine that fires on an alternative cylinder. Sorry I can’t say this for certain, it’s been many years since I have serviced a 460 with adjustable timing. Billy T Billy & Helen Thibodeaux Retired from Billy Thibodeaux's Premiere RV, Inc.
