Both rubber hoses are leaking at the crimped area. The hoses go on to a thread that looks easy to get off. The solid line goes back by the oil filter and up into the bottom of the block.

How does this come off?

Those are probably banjo bolts (they have holes in the shaft to allow oil into the ring around the bolt).

NAPA can make new hoses with new fittings.

Here's what caused my leak. New line made by Morehose using hydraulic hose; 100 bucks.

Looks like you might need a "crow's head wrench" to get it off, or maybe you might have enough room with the filter off for a regular, open end wrench. Loosen the lower nut, turn off the rest of the way and then pull it off. It appears it might be a "Boss-O-Ring Type Fitting".

This appears to be the adapter fitting for your engine block. NAPA: BK 7305029

Actually, I was replacing the seal on the block between the filter and the engine, where the hoses connect to the cooler, and broke it shoving it out of the way. Didn't know it until I started the engine. Quick run to the auto parts store for a big bag of speedy dry. The other line was pretty new so I only had to replace this one.

Went to Napa they sent me to Chevy. They said only 1 of the lines is still available. They did give me an # where they get there hoses made nearby. I'll call monday and find out the cost.

Generally, I agree, but it was obvious that the other hose was new and the one that broke was old, and at over a hundred bucks a pop, I decided to keep the good one on.

I got underneath my 95 truck, and it has similar lines. They do not look like banjo bolts. That would be too simple. The hex is part of the line.

Probably removed by turning the fitting between the line and the block, but I would get expert advice before attempting it. I have asked a couple of my knowledgeable hot rod friends, but their stuff is like mine-----older.

Makes me wanna go over to NAPA and look at the fitting Bill NY pictured.

I don't go there much any more, but some boat forums have really knowledgeable engine guys. Perhaps a post with your picture would get some good answers. Tell them its the truck you tow your boat with.

Now, I'm getting apprehensive and might wanna replace the hoses on the truck as a pre-emptive strike.

I called tubes @ hoses. They said they where open on Saturdays. So after Memorial Day I'll take off the hoses and get them over there.

I finally went over to Tubes @ Hoses.

$85 out the door. Both are welded up with new hoses.
