Yeah, I'm a Yankees fan, but when I saw on the internet that the Red Sox Foundation was having a fund-raiser to benefit Brain-injured veterans of Iraq and Afghanistan, I couldn't ignore this. I signed up to run, and to try to track down sponsors of my run.

This is a 9K run on May 23 in Boston. I am not a runner, and I haven't run since before kids. I haven't run this sort of distance since 1983.

To learn more or to donate to the cause, please go to http://www.runtohomebase.org/runtohomebase/erikslaws.

There is a TV story about this fundraising effort:

I've been working on the "couch to 5K" training program, and can now regularly run 2.5 miles. That is with 6 weeks of training down. I have about 8 weeks to go.

thanks!
Matt
