The WOW! Factor
As you probably recall, we've owned a 30ft 1990 Breakaway for about a month now. Since then, we've made 3 trips with it. At every campground people have asked us several questions about it and many wanted to visit it. This week-end we were parked beside a new SOB Class A. This was funny because people were stoppping at our site and didn't even noticed our neighbour's new rig. Someone even tought that we paid more for our Barth than our neighbour for his plastic SOB Smiler .

So, for all future Barth owners, be prepared to answer a lot of questions and be willing to show off what you have. No more quiet stay at campgrounds.

Makes you feel kind of good doesn't it?

I've had this same experience and can relate. Now, if I've had this same experience just about everyone that owns a Barth on this site can relate!

I'll bet you no one believed it was a 1990.

"Style and Grace"... The bang for the buck is in a Barth! Cool

I've only owned StaRV II for about 7 months and 8,000 miles. Most of the "Holy cow"s have come from dealers. I had one guy on walkabout in an RV park ask me only, "Do they still make Barths?".

"Nope, they're all used - the last Barth was 1998."

"Darn."

That's right, no one believed it was a 1990. Most think it's about 5 years old. It's a real head turner when you drive around a campground at 5 MPH and the diesel is purring like a cat!

This is all true!

I called it the celebrity factor. I have had my new /old 78 Barth since July 06. Never saw a Barth before but when I did I said I have to have it. Now we have gone on 3 trips in Wisconsin and a 10 day trip thru Michigan and down thru WI, back to Chicago. Every single day we were out, people wanted to know about the Barth. My wife looked at me one day and said, WOW! Everyone wants a Barth.

We Camped on lake Huron for a few days, very nice. On our last day, there was a 40 foot rig that pulled up next to us. The owner and his wife hopped out, approached me and couldn't stop talking about the Barth. We mentioned nothing about his rig.

2 Days later I was at the Taquamanaw falls state Park. A man aproached me in the parking lot and said hi. He mentioned that he was just in Mackinaw City and he was camped next to a Barth. I told him I was just in Mackinaw City... Turns out He was camped next to me on the other side! Now I did not remember him and his white 5th wheel, but he remembered the Barth!

Hi Paul, Just wondering how Taquamanin Falls is now. Suzy and I honeymooned there in 76 and it was rustic but wonderful. We've heard it's been extensively "updated" and very commercial, losing it's true outdoors appeal. What did you think?

Hi Danny,

It was nice, a little crowded not as rustic as maybe you might have remembered, but for me the weather was beautiful, the kids and I loved the hike and we came home with some spectacular pictures of the falls. And the Barth worked perfectly. What more could I ask for.
