can anyone tell me how to read the vin # as to what it means and the one riveted on the wall above the drivers seat is different than the one under the hood. is this correct?

This is my unit id number from the wall

UNIT ID:9102 3709 33S-12

9102: 1991/February
3709: Coach Build Number
33s: 33 Foot Long, Single Axle
-12: Floor Plan, Commercial

On mine, the number on the wall plaque is Barth's serial number. The one under the hood is the Chevrolet chassis vin#.
