should i hose up my water supply?
I am looking forward to my 250mile trip south of campbell river.Up to date i have been topping up my 100u.s.gal poly tank.I am thinking of hooking up to the more permament hose bib.An odd freeze up is expected this winter.I plan to insulate the approx.10ft hose.I would appreciate your ussual expert advice.Wally 34ft monarch.Van isle B.C.Addition-I will be hooking up to city water with pressure in the excess of 60psi which might dictate a pressure red. valve.

I always put a 30# max pressure valve at the water source. And I always turn off the water source if I'm not in the coach. What temperature would your fresh water holding tanks be kept at? Also the pipes inside the coach? We never drain ours in the winter because it's kept in a garage that never gets below 32 degrees F. I'd be pretty reluctant to hook it up permanent in anything other than warm climates. The city water hose bid would have to be well insulated as well. Could be done but it would have to be very well insulated.

Most newer coaches have a built-in pressure regulator on the service connection.

You can also go to your local mobile home supply and get heat tape. Many hardware stores also carry it in cold climates.

You wrap the hose with the tape and then an insulation blanket around the hose.
