Need help on campsites in FLA
Hello all. We are looking at making a trip to Flroida again this summer. Last time we went we enjoyed the state parks along the beach. We stayed as far south as Flager's beach, just north of Daytona. We are looking for some campsites, either state or private, along either Florida coast. We prefer a place that is basically situated along the coast with a beach. Any ideas??

We always enjoyed the state park at Port St Joe on the gulf side. It is within 25 ft of the beach. Just have to climb the sand dune . It is St Joseph Peninsula State Park off Cape San Blas Rd.

St Joseph Peninsula State Park was reported to have the number one beach in the world a few years back and this included Hawaii! Their is a web site on the world's best beaches.

St. Andrews State Park in Panama City is the best park I've ever encountered. It's has bay side campsites with your own private beach. Great fishing off of the jetties and snorkeling within a protected area.

I suggest you check out Jetty Park. You can bring it up on Google. It is near Cape Kennedy.

Thanks for the information on the parks. We looked up all of the recommendations.

Here is our tentative itinerary:
• start with a couple of days at one of the two parks mentioned in the northwest corner
• motor down to Disney and pay our respects to the mouse for about a week
• head to Cape Canaveral for a stay there and a visit to the facility
• then on to St. Augustine for a few days on the Atlantic side (nice beach there too).

If there are any other suggestions for campgrounds, we would love to here them.
