I just looked into the Atwood units and really like the one with an 18,000 Btu/Hr equivalency. I do have a question: Does the fan cycle on and off with the cooling/heating or does it remain on constantly?

I believe it's constant, although you can move fan speed up or down. I would ask Atwood.

Hi Lance, I have the Attwood you are looking at. It has low, med,hi and auto. We really like it. Both sides work great. Heat pump worked at 30 degrees. Tom

So it lives up to the 18000 Btu/Hr equivalency claim? I also assume that auto would have the fans stopping while not cooling. The reason I am fixated on the fans is that I keep my coach next to our home and have the AC on all the time. The Penquin in the rear shuts the fan off when not cooling. The front AC (Carrier) has the fan on 24/7. To alleviate that I installed a timer in the power circuit to turn it off during the night time hours.

I am pretty much sold on the Atwood unit. Now all I have to do is shop around for the best price.

That's the smaller unit.

I've been in Tom's coach with the new unit - it's awesome - powerful, quiet, and has a detachable controller. I'm tempted to scrap my loud Dometic Penguin II...

Would not 2 = 13.5 be better??

If they were staggered to operate
you would have the 27000 cooling option??
and the price would be almost the same....
