In my search for a motorhome I've noticed a huge jump in ads mentioning the power cords, inverter/converter, generators and even copper plumbing being stolen, one person told me they had a 7KW Onan stolen so when they replaced it they had the nuts & bolts welded, some entry doors destroyed to steal inside items and copper, doing thousands of dollars in damage just to sell to the scrap metal dealers, on the news a police officer said a $4,000. home heatpump unit at the scrap yard will buy a days worth of dope.

Since we don't plug in, I removed the cord from our Barth years ago, but the compartment has been broken into at least once, presumably by thieves looking for the cord. Once on the street and once in the driveway. If they came around more often, I would have a rattlesnake in the compartment.
