Shipping a Barth Questions
Hi, I have a 1978 Barth. We were given it & we never found the Tag to know the model. It is 24ft long & didn't have any plumbing anywhere to be an RV. We think it was custom built for someone to be cargo or something. The last guy that had it did a mobile photography studio. I have turned it into a dog grooming salon.

Anyway, we are now moving from WA to MT. My husband says we can keep it "if" it's reasonable to ship it. Does anyone know how much a 24ft Barth weighs? Has anyone shipped a Barth before? Any good shipping companies you trust? I've only looked at one shipping company so far & it feels way over my head.
Thanks Shannon (kenshan)

I checked the Data Tag forum. The 24 ft coaches from 77 and 78 all had GVWR of 12,000 to 12,500 lb. I am not sure about these older ones but many coaches, when fully fueled and loaded, are near their full GVWR.

OTOH, you have a nonstandard floorplan. From the sound of it your coach would not be as heavy as the fully completed ones. Certainly less than 12,000 but how much is a guess.

Try it at a truck scale. Let us know if you get it weighed. Good luck. Thumbs Up

the most economical way will be to go with a "Gooseneck Trailer" go on "USHIP" and request a shipping quote.

The height matters more than the weight. How tall? Remember over 13'8" it is too high on top of a trailer. You might need a so called "Landoll" trailer to load it.

Ours is 9foot tall, with the vent lids probably another 1/2inch.
