Curbside fridge, & maybe entry further back than usual? Center twins & rear bath are not uncommon.

I'd say maybe rear bath. My '77 29' had curb side reefer and the entry was pretty far back.

The rear bath looks a little odd to me. Not real familiar with them, but standing in the bedroom looking into the bath, the sink looks like there is a secret compartment to the left of it. Could that be the shower?

My 1975 has rear bath. Looking in doorway is sink, to left is toilet then further left is shower/tub condo, right side is closet.

Our '85 28' Regal also sits on the 195" wheelbase. Very nice ride. I wonder how many 195" wheelbase 28 footers there were? Does anyone know if GM did the stretching or did Barth send it somewhere?

I moved these posts because I wanted to reply to Jim's post but in greater detail.

I have been discussing, with Nick, a Barth that had its frame extended. This appears to be the first documented Barth that was a tag axle.

Looking at the tag, it appears that Barth had the frame extended by McCormick Motors Inc.

I guess GM Didn't make tag axle frames in 1973?

Most likely it is this dealership.

Currently, this is the best photo I have. I have requested a couple of larger pictures and am awaiting his response.

FWIW - My 33','90 Regal SE, w/tag, had an extended frame. The mods. were obvious when you got underneath, though there was nothing on the data tag (that I recall) to indicate the change. So was it done by GM, Barth, or a third party? Who knows?

Neither our Barth ID plate nor the GM tag nor the GM doc handbook says anything about a tag axle. from looking around underneath, it looks like Barth extended the frame and installed the tag axle. Neway provided extensive instructions for MH manufacturers to install their tag.

A lot of coaches in the late 70's and early 80's used tag axles on the GM chassis. Dodge had gone out of business and there were no heaver units available. Keep in mind the GM is a 30 series or the same as the one ton PU. Dodge had a 500 and 600 series chassis. The 600 was later brought back by John Deere in the late 80's.

Anyway one of the more common tags was mooride. It used rubber suspension.

One of the problems of getting old is remembering stuff that no one really cares about.

From the info that came with my coach it appears that Barth did or had the frame extended. My data sheet from GM states that it was built as an 178" wheel base. In Barth's order info it has Build on 195" W.B. My GM service manual does not list GM building 195" W.B in 1986.
