gas mileage
Just did a fair amount of driving and got 6.5 mpg.

Half the time the generator was on powering the AC.

Nothing towed, level ground, just me in the RV, 1978 24 footer with 454.

Is this terrible mileage or OK ? Thanks

Ken, mine and yours are about the same length etc. and that is about what I get under the same conditions. Frowner There are some things that will help you get better mileage but they are expensive Eeker and would take a lot of driving to recoup your money spent. Just my opinion and since I don't put a lot of miles on mine it doesn't make sense to me. Smiler Tooling Along

Make sure you do not drive around with full water or holding tanks (unless necessary). Keep tire pressure up. Take your time, it is not a dragster.

In my 31' Regal I average around 7 mpg. Have done better than 8 mpg.( 55 mph, flat land, wind to the rear.) l loose about 1/2 mpg when running gen with A/C on at 55 mph. Pulling trailer (3000 lb.) around 6 mpg. Wind and MPH kill my MPG.

I only made 1 long trip in the Class C.1000 miles, 60-65 mph thru KY-Tenn. to the Chat. GTG, Just at 10 MPG.

I suspect my fuel economy crown of 12+ mpg will soon be taken by Dawn's 22' FrED with the GM 6.2L.

When you say you're running the geverator to get a/c ... Don't you have in dash a/c? Is the geverator running in gasoline? (My geverator was stolen while in storage under previous owner)
