Hi Folks
We are celebrating our 40th wedding anniversary in Ireland this Monday, Sept 16 'till Sept 30th. The folks house sitting are not able to show the Barth. We will be around in October until about the 3rd week of November, then, if not sold, the Barth will be heading to Phoenix.
Sorry for the inconvenience but we booked the flights and trip back in May and have been excited about the trip since then.

We had a wonderful two weeks in Ireland.
The Barth has just yesterday came back from the shop after having it's required Ontario Safety certification done. No work was required so it is good to go.
If not sold we will be taking it to Phoenix the 3rd week in November.
Thanks for the good wishes on our anniversary.

Two newbies seemed to show an interest via the forum. But, I was never persuaded that it was sincere. Somebody down the road from me was asking about the same price for a 1999 Class B+ Coachmen on Ford F350 (V10). The irony is, it was in the driveway for only about a week and seems to have been sold already, unlike your true MOTORCOACH. I suppose some people would feel overwhelmed by the size. But, what the heck, width would be the same as the Coachmen and fuel consumption about the same (albeit higher $ per gallon).

I've struggling with this since I saw her for sale! Got back from Sturgis this yr & went out & bought a new HD Tourer. So this kind of took care of buying a Barth for now. Not lucky enough to be retired, still working full time. For my life style my Lance camper serves us just fine for weekends or a week at a time.
I know that I probably will never see another Barth in this condition for sale again. I hate to miss this one! The Wife isn't exactly behind me for purchasing a coach at this point of our lives!
The other issue is that it was in Quebec & needed to be imported back into the US. I think that once its down in the US again, I think that if the Wife saw it, she would love it! No big deal to fly out of Bellingham to AZ. We'll see what happens!

Lance is a fine pickup camper. I can understand why you are not highly motivated to replace it.

Yes, there are other excellent Barths that will go up for sale eventually.

If wife is not on board, FORGET IT (unless you are ready to throw her overboard)

Rusty, I don't think there is any rhyme or reason to the used motor home market. One thing may be at play though:
With interest rates as low as they are, you can buy a new motor home, already discounted by the manufacturer or dealer, at a cost, for the time you own it, that is far less than buying and maintaining or restoring an older model. A large number of people, while realizing the quality of some of the older makes, just want to enjoy the lifestyle and not spend a lot of time in repair shops. So, they buy a new one, use it for a few years, and then it's gone. There will always be those that truly enjoy working on these older vehicles but I'm afraid that the number is dwindling. And the next generation doesn't seem to have the same penchant for restoring old relics.

A very nice coach indeed. If I had more room to park one, a nice diesel pusher would be awesome.

It is strange how the market works. As for me, you can buy a newer coach but you won't OWN it until you've been through all the systems.

An old coach presents itself, we go through it to know everything and we are more independent than the new owner waiting for a factory service rep when something quits.

Someone really should grab this coach... Thumbs Up

One could own Don's coach for less than the first year's (actually, probably the first month's) depreciation on a new one. And I'd bet Don's would have fewer issues than a new coach.

If it was for sale a year from now, I would jump all over this. It's a beautiful coach and it's exactly what I'm looking for. Either that or the one in So. Dakota. I can't see one negative with either one. I even googled the distance from Louisville to Niagara and Rapid City.
