Tomorrow early morning we will have the big wheels rolling south and west again this year. After the cross border scrutiny at Buffalo our route will take us west to Cleveland the south west to our first overnight in Cincinnati. Family Motorcoach has full hook-ups available to members at their offices just off I-271.
Then it's south and west to Louisville, and then the West Kentucky Pkwy and I-24 to Carrutherville Mo. Where we can get across the mighty Mississippi. From there it's south to West Memphis Arkansas. We always overnight there at Tom Sawyer rv Park.
After that it's I-30 Texarkana, I-20 Dallas and eventually I-10 to El Paso, New Mexico and Arizona.
Last year the trip down took us 15 days, but that was because we visited Graceland, and San Antonio. Don't know how much time we'll spend on the road this time, but we are gonna spend a few days in Tucson for sure. We love Texas and New Mexico too so who knows!
When we finally do make it to Arizona we will be at Pioneer RV Resort site 375, in the far north end of Phoenix. We are right off I-17 just one exit north of the Carefree highway. So if your goin by, come on in!
Look for us on the road too. We'll be the ones in the big ole Barth towing a bright red Chevy Tracker

Have done this trip many times and in all the different configurations. This year we stayed on I40 to Amerillo, then SW to Roswell, Los Cruses and I10. Great roads and we missed Dallas and El Paso.

Hi Don
We are planning to leave November 29th for Palm Springs and Arizona for four months
Basically we are moving our home office for the winter as we can function via Internet and phone...had to get to the sunshine!!! Palm Springs is because of flights back to Canada in January...easier airport to leave from. This is our first trip down by RV, so we are going to move around a lot and check out the area. I noticed that Pioneer RV Park did not have a website..... You obviously return annually so am I correct that you think it is a decent park?? Anyway, if and when we are in the area, I will be sure to visit another Barthmobile member!
Any tips regarding good RV Parks in Arizona would be appreciated!!

Thanks, Neil

Holy Smokes Mary Ray!! We drove right past your house! Came across the West Kentuckey Parkway and down Rt 51/155 to Dyersburg and across the river. We stayed overnight at the casino in Caruthersville Mo. We do have to leave here early this morning to get over near dallas tonite. Want to get thru DFW on Sunday to avoid the workweek rush.
If we take this route home in the spring we'll be in touch and see if we can get together.
Gary, there are a couple of state parks in west Texas I want to explore, Monahans Sand Dunes and Balmorhea, but might take that route east in the spring.
Neil, try this link for their website. There are so many parks in such varied areas you are wise to explore. We stay at Pioneer because our daughter and her family live a few miles from here. I will get back to you later with a pm.
Don

Don, We stayed at Monahans on the way home when we picked up our Barth in Arizona. In a word "Spectacular".

DFW on Sunday after a little known holiday like Thanksgiving confusion better start early. It's a mad house. Also admire the overpass on I20 MM 237 west where an 18wheeler took out the bridge supports. One lane now. None hurt.
Not a good travel weekend, busiest day is Sunday. Be careful.

We couldn't have had an easier time on the road than this holiday weekend. Sailed thru DFW this morning, we left Mt Pleasant on I-30 about 8am and were down on the I-20 around Dallas about 10:15. Traffic was light and there were few trucks. Never a problem or a slowdown until that one lane section well west of the metroplex. It took about 10 min of slow going to clear and we were here in Big Spring Texas about 4:30.
Only did about 400 mi today.
Ryegal, we'll be in Deming tomorrow night and would love to see your C class. Never seen a Barth C before.
Will try to find your rv park.
Looks like we won't get back to Monahans or Balmorhea until we head home in the spring.

This has been an exciting trip. After leaving Deming and a great visit with Donna and Chewy we stopped in Tucson at Tucson Mountain Park and were surprised when Bud and Linda (BudYXY) followed us to our site. We have never met up with two Barth owners on the same day while on the road before!

Ok! About that upside-down and huge pic that I posted. We have our new ipad on a Verizon air card
for internet service on the road. Obviously I don't know how to work it because the thing wasn't that way when I posted the pic. Sorry 'bout that!
