Not cheap, but look at this baby. I forget how old SD's little gem is, is this a contender for the oldest Barth?

$4800 seems pretty cheap to me, for a completely restored classic like that. What do these usually go for? I think it's just about the cutest little trailer I've ever seen! I wonder what the weight would be on it, i.e. what kind of vehicle you'd need to tow it.

You're 100% right, it's a great deal if done right. We're used to seeing unrestored ones for $100 is all!

You could tow that rig with any vehicle that can handle a 3500lb hitch. Most SUVs and full size cars would do the trick or better yet, a 1/2 ton pickup.

I held out till Doris said it, but what the? I have the ugliest creation Barth ever came up with and I still wouldn't let that thing in my yard. Sorry! Just a matter of taste.

Painting classic bare aluminum is akin to painting lipstick on the Mona Lisa....
It should be a felony, punishable by 30 days in the electric chair Violence

Personally I think the color is awesome, it's really a "period" piece that fits the 1960's perfectly. That was a popular car color back then, and I can just see it being towed along by a shiny new 1965 Chevy Impala or similar. I've always loved classic cars so the visualization is easy for me. Smiler

Some things should just shine and sparkle not be covered by paint. Now I could see a shiny aluminum body with a yellow trim line or similar to match the tow car. Aluminum IS classic, see Airstream, old airplanes etc As is it reminds me of a Hippie Bungalow in the Carribean.

I gotta stick up for Scotty. It looks great in yellow. It's always a Barth. It's still aluminum underneath that pretty yellow paint.

Think of it not as yellow paint, but long term aluminum preservative Thumbs Up

You mean like this?

and this?

With cabin fever at its height in Michigan right now, this looks kind of inviting. Besides, we know there is aluminum under there.

I can certainly appreciate that as well, as part of what I love about classic cars is the chrome. I'm no body shop expert, maybe it was easier to paint than have the aluminum exterior stripped and shined? A message to the seller may answer that question. Wink
