lenny and judyour ride
I noticed (ON OUR WAY FROM THE KEYS) something that really was a surprise. When we first start out driving the coach rattles and squeaks the blinds shake and the whole thing shutters. When we drive for fifteen minutes it all goes away then it is the smoothest drive you could have. The road does not change just the ride I hope this is the way all of us have the same thing happen to us.
Merry Christmas and happy holidays to all and to all a good night. HO HO HO

Moonbeam-ExpressSounds like possible flat spotting of your tires. Once they warm up from friction, they become round again.

Moonbeam-ExpressUpon further reflection, I'm recalling Nick Cagle's adventure with a U-Joint failure resulting in an unscheduled attempt to put the first drive-shaft into orbit.
I wouldn't think it likely to get smoother with time, but the consequences make it worth investigating rather quickly.

MWrenchDo you have air suspension? Could be that you are low in air to the air bags for awhile.
The other thought is perhaps your shocks are binding for a bit and then with continued action they free up?
These are only a WAG/

I believe Ed has it right. This sounds like the most likely scenario to me.
Most likely it's because your airbags are inflating too slowly. The vibration is because the driveshaft is bottomed out or is at the wrong angle when you first take off. Once aired up fully it goes away.

I think you guys are on to something. My first thought when I read teh posting was
"dry u-joint". It seems like I had a similiar problem....possibly with a Chevrolet pickup several years ago but can't remember the specifics.

RustyI wouldn't rule out dried out grease in the drive shaft. Friction will expand the base stock and allow it to lubricate.
However, the type of vibration would be key to diagnosis.

Nick CagleLenny, I can only offer the following observation. A u-joint is about $30.00. A complete drive shaft will cost you close to $1,500.00.

But, as Nick can attest, the learning experience is truly priceless.
