Ok, I read it and it was interesting. Just one question... Why did Barth go out of business?

Good question... I think they had a niche and didn't know it, ie high end coaches 28-34 ft.

When they tried to go bigger they ran into competition from Newell, Prevost and coaches with slides. With rising fuel costs the bottom fell out of the RV market. They couldn't compete and didn't adapt quickly enough?

There are many examples of companies that have failed soon after they were taken over.*
I think Aluminum Cruisers, Inc. was a situation similar to Barth. For many years, the company made high quality (but not fancy) well-built aluminum pleasure boats that bear the name Marinette (not to be confused with companies outside KY or TN).

* Actually, the FAILURE is often IN PROGRESS when company is taken over and CESSATION follows.
