Hi barthmobilers, while camping in the Sequoias I noticed water coming out of the pressure relief valve on the water heater. Other than that the water heater lights and heats the water normally. I went ahead and replaced the relief valve but after a day of testing, the new valve started dripping a day later. Today I replaced both the thermostat and ECO (whatever that is) and am again testing it. So far no water released but thought I would post this in case you guys know something I don't....

More than once over the years, I've had a pressure relief valve that dripped. I'd give it a few twists, pop it on and off once or twice, and usually it would stop dripping. I don't remember ever changing one because it leaked too much.
Occasional dripping seems to be a characteristic of those valves.

The only HWH components I've ever changed are the thermocouple that senses the pilot flame, and in one case, the whole pilot light assembly.

That was in 1969 on a travel trailer. I had forgotten to shut the water heater off, and somehow, underway, the flame was sucked out of the burner, & melted the aluminum gas tube that fed the pilot. Fortunately, the burner quit, and there was no fire.
