Tire recommendations
I will probably replace my tires this year as they are nearly eight years old. My mechanic manages a bus fleet and recommends Firestones. I have always used bridge stones. Comments anyone?

Bridgestone owns Firestone, so it is probably the same thing...

My 8x19.5 Bridgestones have treated me excellent for many years. If they have one flaw, it's that they are a tad loud.

Ditto for me and Bridgestones. Cheaper than most, readily available, long wearing. Perhaps a stiffer ride than some others. I've had no trouble with them.

Another happy Bridgestone owner.

245 19.5 R250s 14 ply up front and 9.5 12 ply in back.

The firm sidewalls ride a little harder than Michelins, but point the coach straight down the road better. The slightly harder ride is not noticeable on good roads.

When we bought the coach, it had wiggly Michelins on it. The tag tires were the oldest, so I put the stiffer Bridgestones on the tag axle first. It made a stunning improvement, as the tag is essentially an anti-wag geometry. When I went to Bridgestones, later, on the other 6, I did the front first, and the improvement was not as dramatic, but still noticeable. Putting Bridgestones on the drive axle made little contribution to stability.

Do not listen to a tire opinion on ride and handling from anyone but an owner of the same chassis as yours.

Richard, 'Baby Barth' up in Canada put Bridgestones on his 30' Breakaway last summer. Send him a PM and he might be able to give you a good comparison. I know his chassis is a Spartan.

I replaced my front Bridgestones with Michelins, kept the Bridgestones at the back for the moment, but will replace them later. After 1500 mi., very satisfied, very stable, no problem so far mixing Michelin and Bridgestone, on different axles.

I have Bridgestones on the rear, and Goodyear G647s on the front. My coach tracks fine.

I have a new set of Yokohama tires on our Regency. They ride quite and smooth.

Just before our trip this summer I replaced the 4 rear nine year old Michelins with 8R 19.5 Toyos. I left the 3 year old Michelins on the front. I've been happy with the ride.
