1994 Breakaway cruise control
Our 1994 Breakaway XL has cruise control with switches mounted on dash. It works most of the time, but acts up a little on 'fast idle."
I think it is a King, but unable to confirm.
Questions are:
1)How can I determine who is the manufacturer?
2)Whether or not it is vacuum or electronic?
3)Where the control box is located?

Thanks,

King makes diesel cruise controls while Barth installed Bendix air systems in their diesels. If you have a gas engine it is likely a GM vacuum system.
Bendix located the brain in the driver side wheel well in the rear and had an air piston system attached to the fuel rail system. Bendix did not use electronics except for the brain and they are not serviceable anymore. A King system is better so long as the engine is mechanically controlled and not a newer electronic system. Pictures would help diagnose the issues you are having.

Thanks Tom - we have a Mechanical Cummins 8.3 6CT with a Banks upgrade and an Allison 3060 with free standing transmission controller. The Vacuum is another issue, but appears to only control the flappers in the dash HVAC. Need to also find the Vacuum source so can get dash HVAC to blow more volume. In the shop right now getting a new Dometic RM 1350 fridge. Will start serious search for vacuum source and cruise control when get it back next week. Trying to get everything tip top for vacations this fall and winter.
