Steering problem?
Update... The pitman arm is off and the mech. said he thinks a new one will fix the problem as the one that is on it is stripped (the spline teeth on the arm are gone).. He believes it was just to loose to operate correctly... Chris from MCR said that this is at least the third pitman arm on this coach.... And a new steering box was installed last Aug. 09.... It was $398 plus $90 overnight shipping from Fed-Ex for the pitman arm... I hope this works and am very anxiuos to drive it again after it is fixed...

OK, I think we found it as it appears to be fine for now... The best I can figgure is that the shoulder on the bolt that tightens the pitman arm to the shaft was bottoming out on the arm before enough pressure was applied to tighten the arm to the shaft... Does that make sense? LOL Anyway I'm glad we found it and am VERY surprised at the simplicity of it... That bolt must have been an original. And since then, this coach has gone through 4 (yes four) pitman arms and two steering gears, but always-and-because of that bolt.. It will always be in the back of my mind but I believe that was the problem...

Good to hear you got it fixed. Now what's next on the list for the Barth?
