JReynoldsschematic wiring diagram
I have recently become the owner of a 79 Barth and am trying to figure it out. It has a 454 Chevy motor which am totally comfortable with. Like what are the 2 marine batteries at the top of the entry stairs under the floor? What are they for and how do I wire them up correctly. There is a solenoid in there with I just don't want any crossed wires or anything. I want to keep from over or under powering anything. I think they're for the generator but I'm not positive. Any help with wiring and diagrams or just tips and trick will be much appreciated.

RustyWelcome to the forums!
The 2 batteries sound like the house batteries. If they're both 12V, they should be wired in parallel. The solenoid could be the disconnect, operated by the wall switch.
The above is conjecture, but hopefully it'll give you some ideas.
