Rusty, as I reread this, the engine you will sell to me, has the desirable 599 block. Would I then send it to Peninsula for rebuilding? What reasons did you have for buying the new AMG rather than rebuilding the 599?. Do you have any idea of how much Peninsula would charge for rebuilding> I'm very interested in your engine. Please don't sell it to anyone else until I get all my ducks in a row.

Peninsular doesn't rebuild; they convert or adapt AMG engines. There are several who do. I recommend http://www.thedieselpage.com/ as a source.

I didn't go with a rebuild because the reputable shops had a large backlog. Jasper is a countrywide rebuilder, but they were vague with details, so I went to Peninsular. The cost difference (excluding upgrades) was about $3K, worth it to me.

In either case the idea is quite staggering.
