Terry BeloteHot H20 in the cold
Interesting new problem. It seems that I have hot water leaking into the cold water side. Would there be a backflow device at the water heater entrance? Also, my water does not seem to be getting as hot lately either. Either I get this fixed soon or stop flushing while sitting down.

Inspector_NickTerry,
I cannot help you with the problem itself but if worst comes to worst you could convert the commode to a bidet?
Just a little off the wall humor to lighten things up on the site, its been getting pretty serious on here lately.

bill hTerry, the most obvious suspect is the shower faucet. Are both hot and cold turned off? Then start feeling the pipes to track down the culprit. Feel the cold line going in to the hot water heater.

GrizzlygiantAlso your kitchen fawcet could have an internal bypass -- not uncommon in single handle valves.
