1994 Barth Regency Door -- Repair or Replace?

Good evening Barthsters!!

My wife and I love our '94 Barth Regency. However, the door needs repair or replacement, if there are doors this size and two places have not been able to isolate and fix the problem, which is wooshing, loud, hissing air entering the coach at the front door area.

Is there any place that sells just Barth components... like a new front door. Any suggestions are appreciated.

OR....

If anybody wants to offer any feeback or opine as to the merits of this idea -- or the ins and outs of repairing the problem, I would appreicate it greatly.

Thanks very much.

You might try a new gasket or have the door gap adjusted. Check with a body shop in your area.

I'm with Ed. Doors on Barths are far more robust than SOBs. Probably all that's needed is a new gasket.

Hey Rusty,

What is "SOBs"? I got a definition for this door hiss, but I think you must mean something different.

I don't know who manufactures the gasket material for your door. You can check with Sofseal or Steel Rubber Products for a direct replacement type. I would go to Home Depot and check out the weatherstrip with adhesive on one side and try to seal it up. Put a sheet of paper in the door jamb area and shut the door on it. If you can easily move the paper, that's an area of possible leaky air. Move around the entire doorframe to find the leak spots. If the gasket is just deformed or indented, you can apply some silicon behind the gasket to build it up.
