After doing some google time, I found that the controller next to my driver's seat is for a Howard Steering System. It seems that a Mr D Howard was an aircraft engineer who worked for Lear and at Lear he designed the gizmos that controlled the flaps and other control surfaces so it was all automated. He did the same thing with this system. The users say it helped immensely to stabilize the coach in cross winds. Mine is in tact but disconnected so that will be another to research. It is hydraulic.
