Lance WaltonUnsafe Connectors
I have encountered some connectors in my Regency which I feel are unsafe. These are intended for residential use where they would be securely fastened to a stud and would not be experiencing the vibrations encountered in a motor home. I have found one which was severely melted and charred last year. It was located behind one of my power panels under the bed. There were many of them in that location. I replaced them all with junction boxes that have the romex clamps installed.
Last week while working on the space under my refrigerator I found three more and while I was looking at them one started to spark internally and then melt. I immediately shut off the circuit breakers and replaced all three. I now know of at least three other locations that I will be replacing very soon.
Here is a photo of the one I saw sparking last week.
I would highly recommend that anyone who has these to replace them.

RustyI had the same issue with the one for the roof air. I'v discovered several, all in places easy to inspect (but not all easy to replace).

Lance WaltonFortunately these last three were all under the refrigerator. I had removed the fridge to replace the drain hose down its back. While out I noticed that the platform under it could use replacing so I removed it. That is when I saw the connectors and the one started to spark. I also corrected a bad routing of the gas lines and provided a one-piece trough to drain water that blows in the vents while driving. There was a 2 inch drain to the bottom of the coach but it was not functioning properly.
