Your local hardware store may know it as "emery cloth"; sandpaper with a cloth backing (instead of paper backing), about an inch wide, in rolls instead of sheets. It comes in fine (high numbers) and coarse, e.g. #80. Wonderful stuff.
.

Found it. Thanks!!!

I just returned from Marysville, Oh-Hi-Oh last week, where I drove my new "1972" 22-foot Barth back home to Knoxville, TN. Wow, what a ride. All the comments about how these rigs absorb the road's bumps, and its stability were an understatement. I'm very pleased with my purchase. No leaks, 11-12 mpg (albeit at 55-60 mph), no oil burn, and a very impressive ride. I cannot believe that everything works, and seems very solidly built. I'm looking forward to maintaining this rig, and enjoying using it. Thanks to everyone who helped me figure out the easiest way to install an alternator belt. I'll upload some pictures this week. I am purchasing a 1972 Barth with a 350 ci engine.
The seller tells me that the alternator belt must be replaced (apparently, it is missing).......
