Looking for an online sorce for a Kohler air filter...anybody have some ideas? thanks

Many or most air cleaner replacements are unnecessary. I would either install a Filter Minder or make a manometer and check before replacing. The price of a Filter Minder can be paid back by avoiding premature filter changes. They are OEM on lots of equipment for that reason. We had them on all our stuff at work.

My own dyno playtime showed no power drop until air cleaner/spark arrestor restriction was in the 20-25 inches of water range. I suspect a low performance engine like a Kohler would be even more tolerant of a restricted air cleaner. Kohlers are often used in garden tractors and yard equipment, so have air filters sized for dusty conditions. An element could last a very time in RV usage. A whole lot of our ground equipment had Kohler engines, and I never saw a restricted element.

Kohler generator is model 7CCKM. Kohler air filter number is: 278858. Appreciate any leads to a supplier. thanks

Googled "Kohler 278858" and got multiple hits. Example is http://www.ess-kayyards.com/catalog/page3.html that lists the filter for $7.99.
