I am coming the fountain of much information.
Our 92 Breakaway with the 5.9 Cummins won't start. With the key in the first position the air compressor will run for about 25 seconds then stop, turn the key to the start position any nothing happens. We're trying to figure out where to start so we thought the best place would be the air compressor for a lose ground or circut breaker and go from there. Just wondering if anyone has had anything like this happen to them. Any suggestions will be looked at and thanks for the information in advance.

Nothing happens... Does it crank over? Was it parked for the winter and you're just now trying to start it up? Does it make a clunking sound when trying to crank? Please give a little more information and I'll try to help you.

Your air compressor is electric? Do you see the air guage going up when you turn the key on? Do you have an electric fuel pump?

is your transmission in neutral or park? If in gear it won't start.

We had the coach running on Friday about 30 miles and got it ready to go Saturday morning and nothing. The engine doesn't crank at all. The gear selector is in Netural. The low pressure fuel pump is electric.

If you own a test light and would like to talk to me on the phone call me. Have your wife available to turn the key on and I'll walk you thru getting it started.

Follow the link in my signature and call the phone number - if you get the wife, and I'm not here, tell her I told you to call and ask for my 629 cell number.

We think we found the answer but we won't know until this weekend when we have the time to get some heavy guage wire and connectors. The ground wire to the air compressor is toast.

Does anyone know if there was a saftey feature built into the coaches with air brakes if the compressor wouldn't run the coach wouldn't start?

Mine has an engine driven air pump so I can't comment.
