Wheels
Since this posting is for information only I am not sure which forum to put it in.

Our Breakaway has 8R19.5 tires and steel wheels. One of the wheels cracked. It was time for a new wheel.

We have the 6 hole bud type. Accuride part number was 28853. The new number is 29388. Even these are hard to find. Also the relacement number were 2 hole bud rather than 6 hole bud. I didn't care as it will be covered with stainless steel anyway. I aquired them from Pioneer Wheel and Rim in Minneapolis.

I've never seen a steel wheel crack from age or use. Was it hit in some way? If a front wheel, you might want to check the steering components, I would also inspect wheel studs for damage.

Better safe than sorry.

I replaced 2 cracked steel wheels on my bus last spring that i sure were caused by tire shops over torquing them. I also replaced the other 4 because the lug nut holes were getting wallowed out from air guns being used on them. I also suspected that cracks would start showing up in them soon too. Nobody torques my wheels anymore but me.
