Furnace Thermostat Replacement
I have never been real happy with the Thermostats on the Barth furnaces. The ON/OFF switch on the bottom is very hard to operate and I was always afraid one was going to break when turning on or off. One finally broke and I replaced it with a different unit. Notice on the replacement unit the Temperature Control is also the On/Off switch. Simply slide the control all the way to the left to turn off the furnace. A big plus, the replacement was $27.00 The cost of the original $48.00

I have the old style - one thing I like about it is anticipation is adjustable.

I replaced mine a while back with digital Honeywell thermostats. They have worked very well, hold temps +-1 degree and cost about $20.

I unfortunately have a dual stage furnace, so I have to use the included thermostat. IT IS BAD! Hysteresis is about +/-2 degrees. HOT/COLD all the time.

One of the biggest problems with this setup I have is the furnace runs a long time before flame and a long time after the flame is off, that results in the furnace blowing colder air at the start and finish of the cycle. No way around this as the same motor is used to run both the flame air fan and the main fan to force the warm air.

That with the lack of insulation make for a very bad interior climate control!
