Inverter - Shore Power Question
I have a Pro Sine 2.0 Inverter/Charger on my RV. While in storage, I have plugged in to shore power (brand new 50 AMP cord with new 15 amp pigtail), turned the master switch (house switch) to the on position. The Pro Sine is reading around 10 V and 0 amp. I don't think it indicated "A/C In" but am not sure. Then, I tried to use various lights and outlets throughout, and found lights to work dimly for a relatively short period and then went out. None of the outlets would work at all to provide power for a shop light, vacuum or anything. Any thoughts or advice would be most appreciated. I am 10 days in to my ownership of my Barth and can't get it started or get power inside so it is a bit of a struggle to this point. Thanks!

Jer, I dont know what kind of "Master" switch you have but maybe that was just the Batt. switch.... The main switch for mine is under my bed and is a three position switch marked "Shore -Off- Generator".... In any case it sounds as if your batterys are dead or at least need a charge....

To my knowledge, and I am pretty sure of this, there is only one switch to kill power to the house and it located behind a small door at the first step next to entry door.

Welcome to the forums, and congrats on your new coach! Thumbs Up

When you get a few minutes, please edit your personal profile and fill in the section about your coach. It also helps to provide a summary in your signature, so it will appear with each post.

There are many differences among Barth's lines (Regal, Breakaway, Regency, etc.); there are even differences between coaches with successive serial numbers as well. Nevertheless, it helps to know what you have.

A summary about this is here

My ground wire that attached to engine had come loose. It tripped a 70 amp isolator switch in the front of my coach. Took me a while to remember it was there when tracking it down after tightening ground & it wouldn't start again. Then the isolator came to mind. It had tripped & I reset it & it started right up.

Sounds like low battery voltage - maybe all of your problems stem from low battery voltage.

Have your batteries load tested and check your cables for good connections.

OK - mobile service helped determine house batteries were in good shape just severely drained. Also located a blown 30 AMP breaker which services the Pro Sine inverter/charger. Believe all is in the right direction now but cannot confirm because I don't have access to 50 amp service at storage and do not have correct "pigtail" to attach my new 50 amp cord to 110v outlet in storage. Making progress!

Any suggestion on proper starting batteries for my 1990 8.3L Cummins? The current batteries are Marine Deep Cycle Group 31, which are expensive. In the Texas Heat, my experience with various batteries over the years is that they do not last long. Help!
