What batteries should I get ?
I'm having my coach batteries tested tomorrow..dometic frig won't run on gas while connected to shore power .. (I know that sounds weird)... Too much ripple in battery charger..(control board freaks out and thinks the flame is out). With my luck, they will need replacing ....what should I get for replacements ? ... The two in the coach now look like car batteries..( actually all four batteries look like car batteries)..92 breakaway...

Do you have room for golf cart or L16 batteries?

Not sure ...good idea.. Depends how big they are..and aren't they normally six volts... ( series two for 12v)...I have a friend that rebuilds and resells golf carts.. He might get a discount.. That would be twice as many ... I would think 12v batteries would take up less room ... Maybe some deep cycle marine batteries ?...

Golf cart batteries tend to be slightly taller than auto batts, so the holddowns need modifying. But since they're more durable and robust, that's the way to go. NAPA or other parts store can make the short jumper cables needed to connect in series.

An L16 is a tall golf battery.. They are a better buy if you have the headroom and can buy them right. They also last longer. Our solar house uses them.

However, some of this depends on whether you boondock enough to need L16s.

Whatever size you decide on, consider AGM batteries. Long Life (7 - 10 years), NO CORROSION, MIL SPEC gassing, used in US Fighter Jets, fantastic for deep cycle & inverter use.

The best source would be a local company that services golf carts. Don't expect these to be cheap - ~$250
