Does anyone know what these air pressure valves do? An wire come off the top of each one that sends current to something. I took them off from under the driver's side in the electrical compartment. The are old and I want to replace them before going to Milford. Also, where can I get them???

I don't know what they are, but I do know it's preferred that images be sized to 8" and sent to me and not be sent as an attachment... deadhorse

Thanks for resizing Rusty. Hope someone can help identifying what they do and where I can get them. There are 3 of them. I have looked on the internet and cannot find them.

you mean there were just in the compartment loose, not attached to anything?
I don't think they are valves.
Considering what your coach is, I'll guess senders for the air pressure in your two air brake tanks.

No, I took them off at O'Rileys. They did not have them so I took a photo while they were sitting on the counter. They are back installed in the Regency now. They are old and just want to know what they are and where I can find them.

There are three of them: One is the brake pressure sensor that converts your air pressure in applying the brakes to energize the tail brake lights; another is a disconnect to turn off your cruise control when you apply the brakes and the third (I think this is correct) energizes the safety valve that prevents your tanks from dropping below 65 psi by closing off the air tanks. They are described in the Gillig manual under the air system.

Correction: I got out the Gillig Manual and I suspect these are the same for most air brake systems. My book says they are low air pressure switches to warn or energize other systems. They list 5 switches that merely close a ground. The electrical schematic refers to them as FLAS; PBS; RLAS;FBLS; and RBLS. They are all the same. FLAS is the Front Low Air Switch (loss of air in the front brakes); FBLS is Front Brake Light Switch - Secondary (don't know what that does but it means the front brakes are not working properly); PBS turns on the light that says Park brake on the dash;
RBLS is the Rear Brake Light Switch, iluminates the brake lights; RLAS is the Rear Low Air Switch
(Primary)
If the lights work; you have no alarms going off; and your cruise control disengages when you apply the brakes - they are working. I suggest you not worry about them. Looking old for a simple pressure actuating switch to apply a ground rarely fails and is not going to age out.

Did you put them back in with some kind of thread compound or Teflon tape?

The max pressure is 125 psi so I cleaned the threads with a small wire brush and screwed them in hand tight plus 1/2 revolution and they work fine and do not show bubbles when sprayed with a soap mixture.

Those are low air pressure switches for the brake and suspension, etc. I got new ones from Gillig. Her is a link to parts list.

Thanks guys... I have a Spartan chassis. Not sure how that crosses over with Gillig. I tried getting the parts thru Spartan, but they are scratching their heads saying they cannot find cross overs. I also have two other air pressure switches that look like small door knobs. They control the brake lights and hopefully the cruise control... both stopped working recently. I was able to order these two on ling from Anythingtruck.com... and I am hoping that solves the problem. I was thinking that since I was changing out the two door knob type switches that I would change out the other 3 smaller ones as two are shown in the photo above. Problem is... I cannot find them on line and not sure what they do.

Try Spartan again - they'll need the last 6 digits of your VIN. They've never failed me.
