Newbie Regal Questions
Any mid 80's Regal owners care to identify the various dash switches for me? I purchased a coach from an estate and am flying blind.

A pix of the switches would help.

On my 86 the switches are rocker style and are labeled but are hard to read except when the panel lights are turned up. Below the light and wiper switches I have 5 switches originally used for: (left to right)
momentary - flashing the clearance lights
momentary - "aux start" to jump the battery sets together
fog lamps
heated mirrors
defrost fans

There are others above the ignition switch for aisle lights, spotlight and fuel tank selector.

Ah the mysteries of Barth! It looks like you have a different arrangement. Haven't seen Acces 1,2,3 before...

I assume auxiliary start joins the batteries in case the engine start battery runs low.

I wasn't aware that I had an Auxiliary Heater but I guess I should be glad that I can adjust it between high & low.

Also not sure what CLNS Lights are.

On Tere's (note owner) 85 Regal, the 'acces switches operate the two volt meters and the fans on top of the dash. The 'CLNS' are the clearance lights the ones on the top and sides of the Barth. Have fun. Send more pics of your questions.

CLNS lights are the small lights that surround the coach body. The switch lets you be cool and flash them (i.e. when someone is passing) like the "big rig" guys.

Mine now runs my aux engine cooling fans.

You are right jim (aux start) connects both coach and engine batteries. On our coach the power to engage this solinoid comes from the coach batteries. This switch should not be used unless the chasssie batteries wont crank the engine.

The clearnce lghit (clns) switch is a mometary switch that turns off your clearance lights. Used mostly as a thank you after passing a slower vehical.

Since you have a rear aux heater there is a good chance that you have auto heat on your hot water. This will heat your hot water while driving down the road.

The access switches are most likley to turn off ligts in storage bays. I dont have those on our coach.

We have those little 'foot' lights as well. There is even one in the stairwell. The switch is labeled, but I cannot recall the exact name. It is not simply labeled 'auxiliary'.

I'd bet if you look behind the instrument panel, you'd see that not all of those ACCES rocker switches are connected.

One of our 6 switches is not attached to anything. One is Heated Mirrors which we've never used & we have one that has something hooked to it but haven't figured out what yet. One is the Aux switch that is not a rocker but an on off switch. One is the clns lights & one is the little fans on the dash.
